HEALTH PROBLEMS

CAUSED BY

INFLAMMATION

When we think of inflammation, we think of the body's natural immune response to an injury or infection. But what is going on in the body to cause it?

What is causing my inflammation?

WHITE BLOOD CELLS

When an injury or infection occurs, the body sends out white blood cells to fight off the foreign invaders and heal the body. This is called 'acute' inflammation. But there is another type of inflammation. And that is chronic inflammation.

CHRONIC INFLAMMATION

Sometimes the body sends out the white blood cells to attack itself as if it were a foreign invader. This is due to an unhealthy or toxic diet, stress, lack of sleep and chemicals. Your body knows when these things are present. It sees them as foreign invaders and tries to fight them off with inflammation.

But the difference between these attacks on the body's health and a minor cut or scrape, is that if these elements: bad food, chemicals, stress and lack of sleep are part of your normal life the inflammation will not go away. Your body will continue to attack its own tissue in an effort to get rid of these threats to its balance and body health.

Here are some of the health problems caused by chronic inflammation:

·     Ankylosing spondylitis (arthritis in the spine, causing inflammation and                  gradual fusing of the vertebrae)

·     Arthritis (osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), psoriatic arthritis)

·     Alzheimer's

·     Asthma

·     Atherosclerosis (A condition where the arteries narrow and harden)

·     Crohn's disease

·     Colitis

·     Dermatitis

·     Diverticulitis (inflammation or infection of the pouches formed in the colon)

·     Fibromyalgia

·     Hepatitis

·     Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)

·     Systemic lupus erythematous (SLE)

·     Nephritis (Inflammation of the kidneys)

·     Parkinson's disease

·     Ulcerative colitis (Inflammation and ulcers in the large intestine)

So, how do you go about getting rid of chronic inflammation? Great question, the first step is to handle what you are putting in your mouth.

Your gut is designed to take stuff in from the food you eat for energy, healing, building blocks for cells, etc. There is only a ONE cell layer between your blood and your food. Your body is designed to take in very specific vitamins, minerals and micro-nutrients from real foods. Anything else that enters the body is basically unrecognizable and labeled as such.

When you eat heavily processed foods, refined sugars, preservatives, and other unnatural ingredients, your body does not know what to do with them. There may not be any problems if you eat it once or twice, but when you eat it over and over again the body will act defensively and mount an inflammatory response.

Sometimes, identifying the actual source is not easy on your own. It could be a host of different things, or just one thing that is causing your body to react very strongly.
